Q&A: I’m screwed. I wanna act. How do I approach my parents about it? ?

Question by : I’m screwed. I wanna act. How do I approach my parents about it? ?
My parents are the kinda people who will support you, yes.
And if I told them I want to act, they would think I’m crazy. My whole family is very, very quiet and reserved. My parents don’t have friends, my younger brothers do, my sister and her husband do.
But I don’t.
And I take an interest in some improv acting. I think it could help with my writing, and not only that, but my speaking. I could probably do it. Ya know?
But my parents are just like, “If you’re gonna learn to do something, it’s better for it to be productive.”
my parents are as productive as productive can be.
I don’t think acting will amount to much later in life…
But I think it’d be a fun way to meet people.
And I really do Wanna act.

My parents won’t believe that I can do it because I’m so quiet. But I can if they let me.
I’ve looked up schools… But they’re all so expensive. I’m homeschooled. We don’t have a “drama class.”

I can’t get the money to pay for this! I’ll never get that kinda money for that or anything I wanna do.
What can I do? I want to so bad. I want to. What should I do? How do I talk to my parents and get them to take me seriously???

join in the local theater or join an acting club. This will let them know u really like it. Or maybe you’ll hate it but at least u will know what u want to do.
